I want Colin to tell Penelope that he came back to London because he felt homesick but the feeling that plagued him didn’t go away when he arrived because he felt it even with his family by his side. That it was this constant ache, like something was missing but he didn’t know what until he was with her, because somewhere along the way something changed and he realized that his family will always be his family no matter what. But the place where he feels most at home in his heart, the place his soul is most at ease, is wherever Penelope is.

Then before Penelope can react or say anything, I want her new suitor to arrive to take her to the dance floor and he’s handsome, charming and completely into Penelope, and Colin has to face the fact that he might be too late because he took her for granted and she had to take control of her life to secure her future so she moved on and he has no right to push or pressure her or make demands. All he can do is be her friend and knowing that is torture for him because he had years of her attention and spent them flirting with every other woman except the one who cared about him the most.

I feel like the show can’t do another engaged to the wrong person situation like they did with Anthony and Edwina in season 2 or even the almost engaged to the wrong person situation like between Daphne & the prince in season 1, so I’m thinking just as Colin is realizing he wants Penelope, someone is going to take notice of the lovely Miss Featherington and simply call on her with flowers or ask her to dance more than once and that is going to be enough to panic Colin and throw his world off its axis.

So I suddenly realised we’re actually going to see Colin and Penelope in love and on our screens and I don’t think I’m mentally prepared for it or will actually believe it until I see it 😍 having watched S1 and S2 before I read the books as soon as I saw them interact together was like there clearly gonna end up together and then reading RMB just completely blew my mind and I completely fell in love with them 🪞🦋🐝🪶🐝
